There is positive research on the use of marijuana for seniors, especially seniors that reside in nursing homes. There are multiple positive effects from cannabis programs within nursing homes. For example, studies have shown that cannabis helps providers reduce opioid and other narcotic dosages and cannabis has reduced the severity of chronic pain in the elderly. In addition, these results has helped to improve mobility and function in the elderly (Stempniak,M. 2019).
